Recently......

Around here, I've gone from snow days to spring break to back to the grind.  And in the middle of all of that, I've done a little bit of everything........like finding this vintage kilim purse......

It's perfect.  It's roomy.  It's surprisingly functional.  The colors.

I could go wild at the shop where I found it.

Had the ladies over for the Bachelor finale.......

Best After the Final Rose episode e.v.e.r.

Found a perfect vintage chenille rug for the laundry room.......

Sir Chester likes to lay on it while I get ready every morning.

*   *   *   *

Tried my hand at making homemade waffles.........

How have I owned a waffle maker for ten years and not used it til now?

Went succulent shopping.........

I've killed all previously purchased succulents.

I keep buying them anyway.

Surely one day I'll get the hang of it?

Thrifting Frenzy

Spring break thrifting treated me well......

I found a little bit of everything!  From pillows to glassware.......and baskets to suitcases.

Of course, some to keep.  But also some to sell.

What's already in the booth?  That brown suitcase above is!  As well as spring clothes..........

I found a version of that floral dress on Etsy for a pretty penny!

(Disclaimer.  Those dress forms aren't mine.  I realllllly want one.  However, those are both priced at almost $200.  I figured I should try one out to see if I really needed it.  And I don't really need it.  But I do really love it.)

Moving on to what's not in the booth (yet)......

All springy and bright!

And as spring break ends, another round of winter weather is heading our way.

If spring break gets extended by one day, you won't hear me complaining.

It'll give me time to decide what items to hoard or price.  And maybe do that school work I brought home but haven't touched.

What I Will Wear

Spring break is here!

One requirement of spring break is to go shopping.

And shopping I did go when I found this beautiful olive shirt online, typed in my zip code, and discovered our local store had it in stock......

olive shirt // khaki pants

Olive is my new mustard.

Last year, I had to have all the mustard things.  Sweaters and skinny jeans and flats.

But this year, it's olive.

I even have those pants above in olive.  (They are my new favorite pants.  I reaaaally want the red pair too.)

So while this outfit isn't outstanding, it's about separates that I love.

This will be a good work outfit to transition into spring. Then that shirt, sleeves rolled, will go nicely with shorts in a few months!

Speaking of shorts, today was almost 80 degrees.

This spring break has been beautiful.

Now for another spring break requirement, reading.  Reading as late as I want.

And sleeping in.

Influenster VoxBox

It's VoxBox review time!  This one was filled with something for me and the mister......

Each box I've received has had a product that I'm curious about but had never purchased.  And each time I've found a new product that I would buy again after trying it out for free from Influenster!

This time, that product was the John Frieda Frizz Ease Flat Iron Spray.  I love the scent......and I LOVE how smooth my hair looks after straightening it (even with my cheap Wal-Mart straightener).  Not only does it help with smoothing down the hair, but it's also a heat protectant.  I will be purchasing this when my bottle runs out!

Next up, Red Rose tea.  I love hot tea.  But I'm also sort of a tea brat.  I like Constant Comment by Bigelow, and it's not often that other brands live up to my favorite.  And honestly, while the Creme Caramel was tasty, it was no Constant Comment.  So, I'll be finishing off the Red Rose, but I probably wouldn't purchase it in the future.

Getting masks and cleansers is always fun.  This time it was a bottle of Boots Botanics Clay Mask.  This was way more watery than expected......and I wasted a little on my first attempt.  But a clay mask it is.......and I suppose how runny it was made the application easier!  It seems to do what it claims.

I couldn't believe the box came with a HUGE bag of Hershey's Kisses!  No review necessary!  LOVE!  YUM!  They immediately were put in my candy jar on the kitchen counter!

The mister benefited from this box also.  He received the Vaseline Spray Lotion.  He has used it daily!  I think it smells way better than what he was using previously, as it's not a heavy cologne type scent!  This is a product we would both buy again.  But I knew that already from getting the Total Moisture version in one of my first VoxBoxes.

Finally, I received Kiss Looks So Natural Lashes.  Now, while I think this product is super fun, I have not tried these out.  So I cannot really review them.

I mean, imagine me showing up to teach my fourth graders with false eyelashes.

Maybe I should?

They do claim to "look so natural".

I could give a prize to the first kiddo to notice.

What I Wear (on snow days)

That is, what I wear on snow days, when I actually change out of my pajamas.

(I may have spent all of Sunday and Monday in sweats and slippers.  It's possible I didn't leave the house for two full days.)

But then the melting began.  They temps came out of the single digits.  And I had cabin fever.

So I put on my favorite old jeans, some layers, my trusty Minnetonka mocs (similar//similar) and a warm chunky scarf a friend made for me..........

And I hit up my booth to add a few spring items.

Speaking of spring, it is March.  I have not had to beg winter for snow days this year.  But I might have to resort to some groveling to get it to go away!

But wait.  Winter, just that I'm over you now, doesn't mean you shouldn't come again next year.  I mean, I'll want my snow days again.

In 2015.

Thrifting Frenzy

A few of my favorite thrifts keep delivering the goods!  This time, I'm willing to part with almost all of my finds.

Speaking of selling, this little vignette is already in the booth.......

I love this end table.  Oh, the ways it could be staged!

*   *   *   *

Another little shelf in the booth....

I can't resist these frogs.

*   *   *   *

Prepping for spring in the booth..........

I have plans for a vignette filled with planters, watering cans, and pastels!

*   *   *   *

Lastly, a new collection I have no real need for.......

These Better Homes and Gardens binder books are so much fun.  With era appropriate decor photos and vintage recipes, how could I not keep them?

Cooking from old cookbooks.  That could be a new thing.

Totally justified hoarding.
