Recently (via Instagram)

May is a good month.

It's my birthday month.  It's our anniversary month.  And usually, school dismisses for the summer.

But I'll be working for another week or so.  Lots of snow this winter and an unforeseen boil order pushed our dismissal date well into June.

Gizzy fainted over the news..........

It's all good though.  The weather has been quite damp, so that lessens the blow.........

My Wal-Mart boots have been very handy lately.  (Not that I wouldn't mind a pair of Clementine Hunters.)

When the weather has cooperated, however, I've been taking advantage of it.........

Shouldn't everyone hit up the lake on Memorial Day?

And shouldn't everyone creep on their friend's porch during a lunch break?

Then post it on Instagram for her to find?

(Yes!)

(It's very fun.)

What else is fun?  Jumping on bandwagons.  I'm not much for that typically, but this one had me completely intrigued..........

Because migraines.

I've tried so many things.........acupuncture and massage therapy...........and nothing has worked.

I'm optimistic.

And also curious if anyone else has had success with oils for migraines.  Please share!

With seven more days of school left, I might need your suggestions.

Thrifting Frenzy

The thrifting drought finally came to an end.  In the last week or so, I've found quite the bounty.

It started with Westclox alarm clocks, a Pfaltzgraff chip and dip dish, an ivory Fire King bowl, a darling metal plant stand, and a few other odds and ends......

The plant stand, green pitcher, and glass decanter are already in the booth (major hoarder accomplishment).

Next up, a pair of Syroco floral prints.........

Not in the booth (yet).  I love them.  So much.  And finding a pair is rare.

I probably should keep them for a gallery wall.

Then this darling crewel (?) needlework piece........

I found this at a friend's garage sale.  Keeping!!!  I do think I'll paint the frame.  What color?

But the icing on the cake was finding this........

I already have its twin.

I have two matching mid-century bookshelves.

One was from my grandparent's house (keeping forever and ever).

This one was only $4.50.  I couldn't get it to the register fast enough.

Initially, I thought I'd sell it.  But it's not every day that you end up with matching mid-century bookshelves.

That is when hoarding is okay.

What I Wore (and more Etsy love)

A little Gap clearance never hurt anyone, right?

I mean, striped peplum tops for $11 are meant to be purchased.....

Paired with a vintage necklace and camel skinnies, and I had a new favorite outfit!  (Plus a subtle attempt at pattern mixing with the leopard flats and chevon tote.)

And speaking of that chevron tote, Ooh Baby Designs on Etsy has tons to choose from......

gray and yellow tote  //  black chevron

She even monograms!!!

I use mine to tote things to and from school.  Although this summer, I plan on making lots of trips to the pool with it.

Ohhhh summer.

So close.

Yet so far away.

Darn you, snow days.
