But this week wasn't all work. I managed to squeeze in a little play.
Like trying out a new-to-me bakery which specializes in fun hot chocolate and truffles..........
Spicy hot chocolate is good. Pumpkin spice truffles are too. But my favorite thing about this patisserie is the location.
Someday I plan on living within walking distance of this little spot. It's my dream neighborhood.
The mister has been warned.

Christmas is already in the air. Relics is having their Holiday Open House this weekend, so the booth had to be prepped.........
Since it's a little too early to break out the tree at home, this helped tide me over.
And maybe going to Leola's Christmas Open House last night helped too..........
I walked away with a bottlebrush tree and some vintage Shiny Brites.
I mean, who could leave this shop empty handed?!?!
And now I maybe want a pink tree.

Well, this week it happened not once, but TWICE............
We are pretty sure folks think we do it on purpose.
We don't. Promise.

I was a Halloween scrooge this year.
After seeing the niece and nephew all dressed up, the mister and I hid out at our favorite Mexican restaurant..........
I needed that cheese dip.
I did not need to hand out candy.
Being a teacher will do that to you.

DeleteYou guys have a great outfit connection!! Loving that.
ReplyDeleteI bet you are tired!!! Get some rest this weekend.
You and your outfit friend are too cute! And that is kind of crazy...I mean, wow. :) MMMMMM your hot chocolate and mexican and truffles all look amazing. I'm sitting here without any breakfast yet and now I have a strange desire for tacos and chocolate?!
ReplyDeleteYou should take a picture of the outside of Elle's, its just too cute! And, yes,you must move to that neighborhood... I used to drive over there, park my car and walk to look at the houses.
ReplyDeleteDid you learn about Elle's on ABM? I am dying to try it. Also, what Mexican restauruant do you like? Since La Fiesta Grill shut down, we are in the market for a new favorite!
ReplyDeleteI did! I follow her on Instagram, so I saw it there first! It's super cute.
DeleteNow, don't judge. We like Cielito Lindo. It's the cheese dip! I love their cheese dip!
Oh I'm a Cielito Lindo fan as well...and now that we live north of town there's one fairly close...at least closer than La Fiesta Grill would've been! :)
DeleteWhew! It's so cheap! I like ordering from the side orders........you can feast for not too much $$$!
DeleteI would have went out for Mexican too! I'm following you on IG follow back!
ReplyDeleteYou forgot to mention it was also a full moon this week too! ;)
ReplyDeleteSo where is this Elle's?! I'm not a coffee drinker, but love, love, love hot cocoa!
That hot chocolate looks so good!
ReplyDeleteHilarious about the outfit twin.
And now I'm craving Mexican food.
Drooling. Over. Cheese. Dip.
ReplyDeleteI used to live within walking distance of a couple great little bakery / cafe spots - was the best!! And cheese dip? Yes please!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great week :)
I'm sure I'd be right there with you at that Mexican restaurant instead of handing out candy if I were a teacher! Good choice :) I am totally loving that pink tree!

ReplyDeleteIf I didn't have the kidlet I would happily spend halloween at a Mexican restaurant. Actually I could pretty much happily spend any meal time at a good Mexican restaurant. Yum.

ReplyDeleteahh, those tacos look good!
ReplyDeleteAbi K
I can't resist a good taco!
DeleteLOve all the Christmas!! Happy weekend to you! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteI adore you and your blog. I am not a teacher, I am mostly just around my only child BUT I would still prefer Mexican food to handing out candy :). Your booth is coming along so adorable with all your great finds. Did you buy that pink tree? If so, I am in love! And, you and Whitney crack me up :)
ReplyDeleteI tried and tried to convince my husband to get a cotton candy colored tree for Christmas last year. No go :( But I did buy a mini 3 ft one and stuck it in our bedroom haha! They are so pretty lit up! Also Leola's is seriously the cutest! I can't wait to go there and see all the Christmas goodies!
ReplyDeleteJust had to comment, as a fellow teacher. One week, we had "color" days and tried to dress in the same colors, wondering if the kids would notice. Some kids did. It is funny how we will all be in black on a cloudy day and bright colors as the weather warms.
ReplyDeleteParent teacher conferences are coming...I travel to 2 schools, servicing 43 kids...thank goodness for the P.T.O. and P.T.G. who feed us, yum!
New to your blog, from Mad Main Vintage. Love the pink tree.
Yahoooooo for a fellow teacher! We get each other then! ;) I'm so glad you dropped in! I'll head your way too!
DeleteThanks so much! I'll head your way!
ReplyDeleteI really liked this post! You have a great blog.

DeleteThanks for always showing up at Leola's......you & Andrea are the best!!!! I love Elle's but I'm addicted to their croissants (with my homemade strawberry jam). Also love that neighborhood. Jan
ReplyDeleteI would kill to live on Pickwick! I never pass up a garage sale in that area because I figure only adorbs people with adorbs stuff live there... not always true. Didn't know what a bottle brush tree was, but now I do, and I love them!
ReplyDeleteHA! Good to know. Not always true! Yep, Pickwick and Weller are my top two streets.
