Thrifting Frenzy

This week, my thrifting adventures took a different turn.

I blame Pinterest....

I saw this pin and had to click on the link.  This dress is from Old Navy.  I put it in my cart as fast as my mouse could click.  It should be in my hands in 5 to 7 business days.

But then I went back to that blog and read further.  The dress pictured is actually vintage.  She found that beauty at a thrift store for $10, and it dates to the late 1930's.

I was stunned.  And a tad jealous.  What a find!

I never look at the dress section at any thrift store.

Think reading that changed my mind?

You bet.  So that inspired a new focus this week when I hit up my favorite shops.

And while my thrifted dresses are not as fabulous, I have a vision for these babies.....

$5.98
$4.98

After shoulder pad removal (bleeeecchhh) and new hemlines, my goal is to sport them on a "what I wore" post in the near future.

They both have pockets.

And can't you see them with great belts?

Speaking of belts......

$1.00

Everyone needs a random pop of gold once in a while.

Or vintage aprons (that I just can't resist)........

$2.98 each

For all your domestic escapades.

My first domestic escapade today?  A new pork roast recipe.

And then maybe I'll deal with those shoulder pads.  Who wants em?

  1. I LOVE that navy dress. Actually "love" does not cover it. I would jump off a bridge for that navy dress. I would get a bad perm for that navy dress. I would eat garbanzo beans for that navy dress. That's better.

  2. the dress section is my FIRST stop at a thrift store! :) i have found some good stuff, but normally my best dress scores are through etsy and ebay. can't wait to see how those turn out!

one of my favorite etsy sellers finds dresses and hems them and it makes them look totally different. my favorite favorite favorite dress came from her - it has little sailboats on it - it could totally be straight from modcloth! http://bloombandit.etsy.com
