The End of Summer

Tonight I have to remember how to program the coffeepot for an early alarm tomorrow.

Summer is over.

My to do list for the last few months was mostly accomplished.  I got in plenty of rest.  And I had fun.

I closed out summer with my favorite girls last week in St. Louis......

We shopped.  We ate.  We met up with a blog buddy!

And we saw Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson........

You know how I feel about Kelly

It was an amazing concert.  I don't think we stopped dancing or singing for one minute.

Visiting Urban Outfitters and Trader Joe's didn't hurt either.  More cookie butter, a fun sweater and shoes, and some concert t-shirts.

A great way to end summer.

Until next year.

This Week (Instagram Style)

I got to have dinner with my bff's......

These girls.  I like em.  So much fun.

Chips, salsa, queso..........and self-timer pics from Nancy's car bumper.  Good, good times.

Broke out the Silver Dollar City Season Pass on Saturday.......

You can't leave the park without eating a funnel cake.

It's a rule.

At least it should be.

I got to meet a blog buddy in person!!!!!!!!!

What are the chances Sara would be in town!?!  Schlag and I were super lucky that we got to hang out with her!!!!!!

She might have us convinced we should move to St. Louis!

Kelly Clarkson celebrated her birthday on Wednesday.  I decided she needed a little fan love shout out on Instagram.......

I secretly hoped she would notice.  And heart my photo.

Or tell me she wanted to be my bff.

Maybe she's just waiting to thank me in person at her concert I'll be going to in August.

Yes, that must be it.

And finally, the glasses arrived........

One of my darlings at school, who did not hear that they were actually real, legit glasses was quite excited that I got "nerd glasses just like hers".

Awesome.

Not exactly the look I was going for.

Kelly Clarkson

I don't have much to say here.

I think my face speaks volumes......

Once upon a time, I sat through a Clay Aiken concert for her.  Because she opened for him.

I mean, come on.  Kelly opens for no one.

I'm basically speechless.

Kelly in my hometown.  Singing all of her hits.  Sitting next to Nancy.

And it wasn't even a school night.

The icing on my spring break.

Best Halloween Ever

On Halloween, I attended the best concert ever: Kelly Clarkson. It was amazing. I can't even begin to describe it's amazingness. Kelly has an incredible vocal range and can sing any genre. She interacts with the crowd and is funny! Her band is outstanding! ANNNND the opening acts were even great! It was a great way to spend Halloween..........with a wonderful friend at our favorite singer's concert on the sixth row!!

The first band was named Parachute. We ended up really liking them. Especially the lead singer. They came out in costumes. The lead was dressed as a taco. The rest of the band had sombreros, long mustaches, and festive shawls on. Great music! Nancy bought the CD, and I've already downloaded their songs. Did I mention we really liked the lead singer?

The next performer was Eric Hutchinson. His band came out in costume, but we never really figured out what they were. Lots of wigs. They were good. He's entertaining. Another good show, but at that point we were getting anxious for the main event!

Finally, after two great opening bands, we got what we came for. The first American Idol. Our most FAVORITE singer ever! Kelly Clarkson took the stage! She was everything we had hoped for. She sang her current hits, as well as older hits! We sang all night long, as loud as we could! We stood the entire concert. And danced. And jumped. And screamed.

For the encore, the entire band came out in costumes! They played Thriller and danced around on stage. Then for the last song, Kelly sang "My Life Would Suck Without You" dressed in her Stewie costume.

And last but not least, I recorded a bit of video........shaky, digital camera video, complete with AWFUL sound quality and a stupid witch hat going back and forth in front of me (and some crazy, totally off key person singing along with Kelly).......

To Nancy and Kelly

Something very good came in the mail this week.

Two tickets to see Kelly Clarkson (the only American Idol ~
in my opinion) on the SIXTH ROW directly in front of the stage!

This means: TWO VERY EXCITED GIRLS!

We will be very close to the stage, which means we'll be
very close to Kelly. Kelly will probably ask to hang out
with us after the concert, we're pretty sure.
