Two years of costumes.
One I broke the bank on. And one that cost maybe $10.
Costume number one: Mary Katherine Gallagher.
Cheap costume. All thrifted (for about $10) or from my closet....

Costume number two. Expensive. Well over $100 spent.
I wanted to be decked in 80's finery head to toe. From jelly bracelets to fingerless lace gloves. An attempt to channel Madonna.....
Luckily, that costume has gotten a lot of mileage. 80's day at school. Other Halloween parties.
The boots were a little dangerous, but no regrets spending the cash on this costume. I loved it.
I was, after all, a child of the 80's.
Basically, like, the best decade ever.
Love your eighties look! So much fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the 80's. LOVE your Madonna outfit, and the booties - TOTALLY worth it!

Thank you!!!!!!!! Now, can I get away with those booties outside of the Madonna look?!?!
DeleteI love your costumes!
ReplyDeleteThose are both awesome!! But my favorite is the 80s costume! Brings back so many memories. :)
ReplyDeleteDanavee, you are ADORABLE. Loved your recent costumes. You should do a post of costumes you wore as a child, too.
ReplyDeleteLove both costumes! Fun fun!

I was just thinking yesterday how being MKG would be a great Halloween costume - love it! :) You're a superstar.
ReplyDeleteYou look great channeling Madonna. And hey, you can get tons of mileage out of that costume! Looking great as MKG too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween! Stopping by from the link ups!

MKG!! I about died...now that is hysterical!! And I am LOVING the 80s get up. It's almost a shame we can't get away with dressing like that everyday.....almost!
ReplyDeletei love it!! you look straight out of a music video!
ReplyDeleteI love them both! So clever!!
ReplyDeleteLove the Madonna look! So awesome!
ReplyDeleteI too love the Madonna look. That skirt of yours with the white top reminds me of the one I thrifted and didn't have to spend that much with mine, like dirt cheap for 50cents. Fun costumes though! :) Happy Halloween! Following you as well and thank you for following me. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one that did a costumes post for WIW today! :-D
ReplyDeleteI was a child of the 80's, too, but in retrospect not my finest sartorial decade. :)
You look good. I love the hair. You should wear this look all the time.
ReplyDeleteA few times every week, I'll bust out my 80's cd. That's right. 867-5309. Love the costume!! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat costumes! Love MKG and DIY! You did a great job.
ReplyDeleteIf only the Halloween parties had been at the level of the Halloween costumes. Just sayin....
ReplyDeleteTrue story.
DeleteAhhhhh, totally the best decade ever!! The movies alone speak for themselves! I loved both of the costumes, but the boots in the 80s one stole my heart! :)
ReplyDeleteMary Katherine Gallagher is such a great costume idea! Plus you get to run around all night with your hands in your armpits...double win! I love a costume that has some sort of performance to go along with it. Great 80s costume too :)
ReplyDeleteHA! Yes, I worked her antics as much as possible. Flailing and armpits and all that good stuff.
DeleteVery fun!!! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteJelly bracelets, yes please! Did you guys have the jelly shoes, oh how I loved them.
ReplyDeleteVery cool costumes!
