I spruced up the hallway......
Those are vintage rug beaters.
Yes, that's a thing.
And I think they make a fun, unexpected gallery wall.
Yes or no?

I wrapped 23 books........
I love it when the kiddos walk into the classroom and find these under the tree.

Mother Nature was such a tease........
We got our first snow of the season.
And it melted about four hours later.
Not good enough, Mother Nature!

Whit and I planned matching outfits for sweater day at work.......
The antlers didn't last very long.

Porch Creeping 2012 Christmas Edition........
Porch creeping is exactly what it sounds like.
You creep onto the porch of an unsuspecting friend. Scramble to pose whilst the self timer on your camera ticks away. And post the photos to Instagram.
You try not to get caught.
The point is for the friend to find these photos while innocently scrolling through Instagram and be like, "Hey! That's my porch!"
It.Is.Great.Fun.
Until you fall over an adirondack chair and the homeowner springs from the sofa because he thinks you are really a pesky opossum and you're caught red-handed.

Who put that chair there? Not me. No way. Stupid dresses.
ReplyDeleteYou make me laugh. It's been awhile since I've seen a porch creeping post from you. I almost forgot that it was YOU that did that. I love it. I can't believe you made that poor baby (who's baby is that?) porch creep!!! What kind of books do you get your kids? It looks like a fun pile, each different, huh? What a nice surprise for them. And, I love the rug beaters. They definitely are interesting!
ReplyDeleteThose rug beaters are AWESOME! Seriously you can tell you're an antiquer when you know and get excited over rug beaters. haha. So gonna bring porch creepin' to Virginia now. haha
ReplyDeleteYESSSS! I expect a blog post! WITH PHOTOS!
DeleteI love your matching Christmas sweaters! And your fantastically quirky decorating style - I never would have thought to hang vintage rug beaters on the wall, but they just WORK!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I totally wrapped 22 Scholastic books for one of the teachers I subbed for this week. She wrote in her plans "The kids go to music and you have a prep. Since you don't have anything else to do, could you wrap these for me?" Um...okay :)
Wow, 23 books wrapped? That is definitely a lot of wrapping.
ReplyDeleteSo. The rug beaters are very cool looking. But. They are also the teeniest bit creepy looking. Cause if you don't know they're rug beaters the question comes up 'what exactly are they?' :)
ReplyDeleteAnd is your visible book of choice a hint to your students?! :) You are clearly an awesome and fun teacher. :) But.....are you also an alien? :) hehehe.
Merry Christmas!
