Not too long ago, I decided to expand my antique booth horizon. I wanted to try peddling vintage clothing, so I tested the water with a few blouses. Then I graduated to dresses, skirts, and sweaters.
And by golly, they are selling.
This excites me. But it's also a problem.
I end up wanting to keep half the items I purchase for my booth.
Case in point?
A few items meant for my booth........might not make it there.....
Left photo........vintage pleated skirt and geometric print blouse...........throw a belt around it, slip into some cute shoes, and head to work.
Middle photo...........vintage peplum anyone? It hails from the late 70's/early 80's. I even found this dress on Etsy. Again, throw a belt on, put on the heels, and hit up a New Year's Eve party!?!
Right photo..........80's sweater. I think its glorious-ness speaks for itself. A fun, casual addition to skinny jeans.
Then there was this bracelet......
After being marked down to $1.48, it needed a home (mine).
So.
Get real with me.
What should I ticket and take to the booth?
Orrrrr what do I make room in my closet for?
Oh man, I love it all! You look great in it :).

As much as I sort of love it, there's NO way that bracelet is making it through your workday. I can see you sitting at the computer, scowling while trying to type. It's a beauty though.
ReplyDeleteSeriously the 80s sweater? I do not support this.
Bracelet. You are correct. Gosh, you know me well. My necklace was off by 8:00 today.
DeleteSweater. You might be sad that it's not hanging in your closet. Maybe?
Personally I like the left picture best. :) But they're all lovely.
ReplyDeleteKeep, keep, sell. I love, love, love look #1 and look #2. And, though I think you look fabulous and trend setting (even in vintage wares) that sweater has got to go. I think the placement of the flowers vaguely look like they could be giving your boobs an eye like quality...and I say this with complete adoration of you. You are much too adorable for look #3.
ReplyDeleteLove that bracelet - you should at least keep it for awhile! I guess that's the nice thing about vintage: you can always sell it later!
ReplyDeleteLove the brown skirt and bracelet. But I agree with Whitney about the sweater. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the first outfit!! So sweet! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteOMG - it would be so hard to sell such FABULOUS items! I would definitely keep the pleated skirt and the bracelet, and that peplum top. Or, at the very least, get a few wears out of the items, dry-clean, THEN sell!

That is brilliant! Wear, then sell!!!! Great idea!
DeleteThat pleated skirt is amazing - do not give that up!

I love the middle dress. Vintage peplum especially now that peplum is everywhere! I would keep that one.
ReplyDeleteI reaaaaaally love it. I think you and I are the only ones though!
DeleteMy favorite is the first outfit. I think it's the most wearable!

Win a chain link necklace!
I believe that's the winning outfit!
DeleteLove the pleated skirt - it looks great on you.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! :)
DeleteKeep the bracelet.
ReplyDeleteKeep the 80s sweater. Even though the others look great on you, I feel like they are too dated.
The first look is definitely a keeper! So in love with the pleated skirt and the dotted blouse!

You look fantastic in all the outfits and I love the bracelet as well.
ReplyDeleteI say, if you like all 3 outfits then keep em and sell at least 3 outfits out from your closet.
Rule of thumb in my house; if I buy a different item then must get rid of something in return
ColleenB.
That is a GREAT rule to follow. I need some rules (for my closet) because I have no control!!!!!
DeleteFor me, the skirt and top in the left picture are my faves and the most versatile. That's also a great bracelet, though it looks breakable?
ReplyDeleteLOVE pics 1 & 2! You look amazing! Definitely keepers!
ReplyDeleteKeep them allllll!!! Especially that brown skirt. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up!! I am one of the co-hosts over at Lara's Vintage!! I love your outfits, I'd wear every single one of them!! Especially the first outfit! I am a sucker for a pleated skirt! :) XoXo, Crystal from Billie Jean

DeleteI think you should definitely keep the skirt!

Ohhhhh, that's a tough one...I say keep the skirt for sure!! I am so proud of you. You def have a knack for vintage shopping and I think as long as you can can actually let go of the stuff you find...this could be a HUGE new venture for you...be strong! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet comment!

I LOVE that pleaded skirt!! Keep it! :)
ReplyDeleteDEAL!!! ;)
DeleteGirl! How awesome! I am not going to be any help here because I think you should keep it all! :) That vintage peplum is making me drool! :)
ReplyDeleteIf you're only going to keep one, I'd go for the first look. Super cute and seems very wearable (dressed up or down).
ReplyDeleteI want to keep them all. Well, maybe folks have talked me out of that sweater, but that DRESS! I just can't seem to part with it!
Deleteahhaa oh my, i would have such a problem trying to sell stuff too, these things are all adorable!! where do you get your vintage from?? you know what you could do is keep them all for yourself, wear them a few times and then if you get sick of it, sell it, if not keep it! my favorite item is the skirt, the length is so vintage, i really like it!!
ReplyDeletethe first! it's the cutest thing, if you're thinking of keeping only one.
ReplyDeletefound you through 'two in diapers'. i'm your newest follower :) hope you can find the time to come visit (and maybe follow) me too sometime. have a great weekend!
it must be (so)... liberating
I have the same issue-wanting to keep stuff that's meant to be sold! I think you should keep everything but the sweater. Wear the other items once, figure out if they fit well, and if not only then will you feel better about selling them.

I say you make room in your closet for EVERYTHING! SUCH CUTE STUFF! That bracelet is TO DIE FOR! :)
ReplyDeleteALLLLL! I would take them all. That would be my problem as well, having a hard time which items to sell or not. LOL! I love that Peplum dress. :) Lovely!
ReplyDeletewell, my favourite look is the one on the left. I think you should keep it because it looks great on you!! :) but generally it´s very hard to decide this :) I like to keep stuff :D but still then after a while I need to clean my closet a bit and throw away the stuff I don´t wear. I hope to find such a nice stuff as you did! :)
ReplyDeleteAll so cute! That's the cool thing about selling, you can acquire, wear a few times and then sell - the best of both worlds :)
ReplyDeletei love that bracelet the best!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
