Thrifting Frenzy

The thrifting drought finally came to an end.  In the last week or so, I've found quite the bounty.

It started with Westclox alarm clocks, a Pfaltzgraff chip and dip dish, an ivory Fire King bowl, a darling metal plant stand, and a few other odds and ends......

The plant stand, green pitcher, and glass decanter are already in the booth (major hoarder accomplishment).

Next up, a pair of Syroco floral prints.........

Not in the booth (yet).  I love them.  So much.  And finding a pair is rare.

I probably should keep them for a gallery wall.

Then this darling crewel (?) needlework piece........

I found this at a friend's garage sale.  Keeping!!!  I do think I'll paint the frame.  What color?

But the icing on the cake was finding this........

I already have its twin.

I have two matching mid-century bookshelves.

One was from my grandparent's house (keeping forever and ever).

This one was only $4.50.  I couldn't get it to the register fast enough.

Initially, I thought I'd sell it.  But it's not every day that you end up with matching mid-century bookshelves.

That is when hoarding is okay.

  7. Yeah, you pretty much have to keep the shelf. I don't see any other option. : )
And I have the same plant stand in my booth right now. Apparently it originally had an ashtray on top, though I've only seen that once, and it was cracked. I'm guessing they broke easily.

  11. Stumbled across your blog from thelaurenelizabeth. Great vintage finds! My hubby has been into that business since he was 14 (now he's 30) and once we got married, roped me in too! We have a couple of booths in an antique mall close by and set up frequently at antique shows. If you're ever in the western Ohio area, we have some great antique places to do a little treasure hunting! It's a fun gig we can do together in our spare time :)

Will you be doing any garage sale picking this weekend?
