How would you wear it?

I have been dying to duplicate these two pins..........

So I found the perfect skirt, tank, and top.........tried them all on.........and set the self timer on my camera.........

But then I didn't wear either of them.

I chickened out.

I couldn't decide if they really worked or not.  And I think pattern mixing still hasn't hit good ole Southwest Missouri.  Would folks stare at me funny?

Then I remembered that my days are spent with nine year old kiddos.  And didn't I say that the halls were my runway last week

So tell me.  How would you wear it........yellow chevrons or navy stripes?

Majority rules.

  1. Yellow chevron!! I do really like the stripes too.

  2. They both are adorable! The pattern in the skirt is small enough that you can do the bolder pattern in the top. I am a sucker for chevron, so if I HAD to pick one, that would be my vote.

  5. Chevron! I think the smaller polka dots and the small stripes compete. But any big pattern (floral, stripes, etc) with the skirt would be adorable!

  6. love the yellow chevron top! The stripes and the skirt are intimidating to wear... like anyone who doesn't read blogs might not know that's ok to do now. haha

  14. I like both, but favor the chevron. The stripe option would work better if the stripes were thicker.

Either way, you can def rock both looks!

  16. Dang, you look great in both and wish I had your figure.
I do like the yellow but also like the stripe. For me,(me thinking out loud) I would wear a shiny, plain navy blue or red belt....(I'm a sucker for red :} and wear red or navy shoes to match the belt.
Either way, you look Fantastic in either.
I wear what I like and feel if others don't like it,(only because they didn't think of doing it themselves) that's there problem.
    Both great looking outfits

  17. Just saw your post via the Pleated Poppy. I really like the yellow & navy! I think the cardigan pulls it all together nicely. I don't think it's too out there at all, everyone seems to be doing 'print clashes' at the moment!

  21. I like both, but the yellow chevrons win in my book! More colorful and fun! Wear it and let them stare. They probably just wish they had the gusto to pull it off themselves!

  24. I like them both but especially the stripes. (I somehow added at least five striped shirts to my closet this summer.) A blogger I read (flowerpatchfarmgirl) wears a lot of mismatched patterns that look adorable. I've only been bold enough to try it once - this winter with layers. Maybe I'll try again...

  25. I think I like the navy stripes. It is also sort of a way to ease into the whole pattern mixing thing. ;) If that goes over well, then you can move up to the yellow chevron! They are both great looks!

  26. I love the yellow look more!

  28. I love them both because both outfit look great on you! I think stripes and chevron work well with that polka dot skirt, especially because yellow and blue compliment each other in the first one, and keeping it all in the same family definitely helps, in the second one. But if I had to choose, I would pick the yellow chevron top!
