Love and Hate (2012)

Looking back, this year was full of mostly good things.  There was a lot to love about 2012.

But life gets thrown at you sometimes.  And sometimes you just hate it.  Not life, I guess.  But circumstances.

I couldn't foreshadow the feelings I'd have upon losing my Grampy.  I miss him like crazy.  I think about him every single day.  I even catch myself thinking about emailing him some random thing.  That's what we did.

I haven't figured out how to channel my sadness when it washes over me.  So I just cry.

That was the worst thing about 2012.

But with the bad comes the good.  And the year was filled with things to be thankful for.

Serious things like a having a good job and my health.

And some silly things too.  Like my new car......

Having had my previous car since 1998, buying this was pretty monumental.

I finally finished the special room......

I mean, how long did this take me?

*   *   *   *

The booth continued to be a fun hobby.......

Can this please be my full time gig???

I could be an American Picker.

I could.

*   *   *   *

And the blog grew by leaps and bounds........

EEEEEEEKKK!  How did this happen!?!?!

I don't even know, but I'm ever so thankful for my supportive blog buddies and the new friendships that have formed this year.

I pray that 2013 yields as many blessings as 2012 did.

Happy New Year!

  2. Your grandpa must have been a very special man. He is lucky to have had a granddaughter who is keeping him very much alive in memories. As for your highlights, 2012 certainly was good to you. I hope that 2013 is even better.

  3. Happy New Year girl!

    Thinking about you & your gramps make me sad...one day this will be me, and it will certainly be an incredibly difficult thing to deal with. However, what an incredible blessing that you had such a wonderful relationship; I frequently remind myself to be thankful for those relationships because very few granddaughters get that chance!

  4. Your booth looks so fun!

    On a different note - I got teary-eyed reading about your Grampy. I still catch myself asking to talk to Papa when I call my Mimi, even three years later. Thinking of you - and praying that you have many more fun and exciting days in 2013 - some of which include enough snow for snowdays.

  5. I think, considering everything, that you had a pretty blessed year. My little ones would think you were so lucky to have your g'pa so long. They, too, miss their's everyday. You have done so well with your blog & your place at Relics. Can't wait to see what you're able to accomplish in 2013. Happy New Year!

  14. It'll just take lots of time and tears before you feel better about Grampy. My brother died a year and 2 months ago, and it still gets me down. With time it feels better, even though I don't believe I will ever feel whole again.

    Congrats on the car! I upgraded from my old 99 chevy cav to a 2010 prius two years ago. Best decision I ever made!
