You guys already know that I l.o.v.e. to thrift.
So....
When Young House Love threw down their thrift shop challenge, I was all over it.
I mean, this issss my anthem......
1. Pose with your $20 at the thrift shop.........
2. Pop some tags. Then photograph finds.........
![]() |
| Total: $5.96 ($2.98 each) |
![]() |
| Total: $11.47 |
![]() |
| Total: $3.00 ($1.50 each) |
3. Find an item referenced in the aforementioned rap and photograph it.......
Alas there were no broken keyboards, telescopes, or footie pajamas.
Only big a-- coats.
But trampolines should count for something......
Right?

Haha, this is so funny! I actually really love that big a** fur coat :) Happy Friday!

Sephora Giveaway!
ME TOO! I'd have a collection of them if I had the space!
DeleteThis challenge is perfect for you! I can't wait to see what you do. I loved your finds...did you really get all of that for $20? I'm impressed...and it looks like, at least for the sake of the challenge, you broke your shopping hiatus.
ReplyDeleteThe first time I heard that song a few months ago I had to listen to it a few times. "Is that dude really rapping about thrifting?! Awesome! " Now it sometimes pops into my head when I walk into the thrift shop, makes me feel so gangsta! ;) hahaha! Great challenge!
ReplyDeleteI am new to the obsession of thrifting, but boy, it has hit me hard!!
ReplyDeleteThrifting is one of my favorite pasttimes. I love what you found and can't believe you got it all for $20. That is...awesome.
ReplyDeleteI went over by a dime or two!!! ;)
Deleteyou've done it again! your posts always make me so happppppy! also, if you are not using that magazine rack... i'm just saying. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat coat is kind of awesome. And you can probably guess how much I am coveting that magazine rack!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds - especially loving the glasses with white geometric patterns. Also, I think I may have found your magazine rack's long lost cousin on my thrifting trip.
ReplyDeleteThose glasses are my favorite! I'll have to head your way to see your finds!
DeleteWe had a trampoline like that!! It was so fun! My little sister called it a jumpoline. :)
ReplyDeleteI found a big calculator. I figured that could count. :-P I love the owls! Especially the shorter one with the shifty eyes. He looks like he's planning some trouble.
ReplyDeletelove the owl giving the side-eye! awesome job!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Isn't that hilarious!
DeleteOooooh love that white fur coat. Is that weird of me? And I need that trampoline. Oh the fun the kiddo would have. (At least until he launched himself through the ceiling - maybe a trampoline isn't the best idea.) :)
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm in love with you. And is it wrong that I want to move to America just for the thrift stores? I live in England and we don't have them. We have charity shops, in which there are less things, the prices are higher and you really have to be lucky. I am lucky a lot, I go to too many ;-)
ReplyDeleteSounds like an opportunity to start a new business in England. The public actually donate the items to thrift stores. Most thrifts pay nothing for their inventory. The public thinks they are charity organizations and they are not. Most are for profit and privatly owned.
DeleteGood money to be made there.
HA! Thank you Elizabeth!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, visit and bring lots of empty trunks to ship back!
DeleteI love thrift shopping and I love this challenge! I'm definitely going to have to give it a go this weekend!

I went thrifting today, and was so disappointed! In GA, our goodwill stores were so incredibly organized and nice. Here in SC, the one I went to was O.M.G....horrible! I went to a 2nd one, smaller run by a local church and it would be great if I was a size 2 chica, or a man who needed a suit. So sad.
ReplyDeleteI love that song...
I'm seriously loving this post =D I LOVE thrifting too, and I'm a huge fan of that song =D I'm your newest follower via google (535) and bloglovin. I'd love it if you could check out my blog and maybe follow back?

Agh! How did I miss this challenge? Love your post, so fun...and you are rocking the big ass coats!
ReplyDeleteNice owls & glasses!
ReplyDeleteAlthough, popping tags is NO, NO in my books. Not for me. I'll sing it, but not gonna do it.
One time my dad brought my sister & I to this store downtown Detroit.. in a very weird area & it was a 2 level store of used JUNK. He bought one of those huge trampolines & we brought it across the border back to Windsor. It was one fun summer.
You are SERIOUSLY so adorable! I know I say this EVERYTIME I read your thrifting posts, but I HAVE to get out there and thrift more often!!
ReplyDelete♥ Kyna

Love that song and it is hard to get out of my head. Have to constantly watch myself though so I don't sing the grown-up version around my kids, lol. The kids love it too (the clean version). I'm gonna pop some tags....yeah, now I did it.
ReplyDeleteHA! Yes, TOO catchy! I'm glad there was a clean version to post here!
