Thrifting Frenzy

You guys already know that I l.o.v.e. to thrift.

So....

When Young House Love threw down their thrift shop challenge, I was all over it.

I mean, this issss my anthem......

And as all challenges go, there are rules to follow:

1.  Pose with your $20 at the thrift shop.........

2.  Pop some tags.  Then photograph finds.........

Total:  $5.96 ($2.98 each)
Total:  $11.47
Total:  $3.00 ($1.50 each)

3.  Find an item referenced in the aforementioned rap and photograph it.......

Alas there were no broken keyboards, telescopes, or footie pajamas.

Only big a-- coats.

But trampolines should count for something......

Right?

  2. This challenge is perfect for you! I can't wait to see what you do. I loved your finds...did you really get all of that for $20? I'm impressed...and it looks like, at least for the sake of the challenge, you broke your shopping hiatus.

  3. The first time I heard that song a few months ago I had to listen to it a few times. "Is that dude really rapping about thrifting?! Awesome! " Now it sometimes pops into my head when I walk into the thrift shop, makes me feel so gangsta! ;) hahaha! Great challenge!

  10. I found a big calculator. I figured that could count. :-P I love the owls! Especially the shorter one with the shifty eyes. He looks like he's planning some trouble.

  12. Oooooh love that white fur coat. Is that weird of me? And I need that trampoline. Oh the fun the kiddo would have. (At least until he launched himself through the ceiling - maybe a trampoline isn't the best idea.) :)

  13. Ok, I'm in love with you. And is it wrong that I want to move to America just for the thrift stores? I live in England and we don't have them. We have charity shops, in which there are less things, the prices are higher and you really have to be lucky. I am lucky a lot, I go to too many ;-)

  18. I went thrifting today, and was so disappointed! In GA, our goodwill stores were so incredibly organized and nice. Here in SC, the one I went to was O.M.G....horrible! I went to a 2nd one, smaller run by a local church and it would be great if I was a size 2 chica, or a man who needed a suit. So sad.

    I love that song...

  26. Nice owls & glasses!

Although, popping tags is NO, NO in my books. Not for me. I'll sing it, but not gonna do it.

One time my dad brought my sister & I to this store downtown Detroit.. in a very weird area & it was a 2 level store of used JUNK. He bought one of those huge trampolines & we brought it across the border back to Windsor. It was one fun summer.

  31. Love that song and it is hard to get out of my head. Have to constantly watch myself though so I don't sing the grown-up version around my kids, lol. The kids love it too (the clean version). I'm gonna pop some tags....yeah, now I did it.
