I'm not joking.
I am totally obsessed with all things tribal.
I went to look for a dress to wear to an upcoming wedding and came home with two tribal print items instead.
First up, this Forever 21 top......

It was only $12.80!!!
For that price, it would basically be unjust to not own it.
Right?
The next item I found was at a local boutique, Red Poppy.
But I need your help. This is my first maxi skirt.
Do I tuck my top into the skirt or not?

And is black the best color to pair with it?
HELLLLLP!!!!
Now, did I find a dress to wear to that wedding?
I did not.
But that just gives me another reason to go shopping.
Linking up with The Pleated Poppy,
I'd say tuck it in, but I'm not really a fashion maven, so I'd listen to whatever other people say. :)
ReplyDeleteI love it! the top tucked in looks soo cute.
ReplyDeleteTHANKS!
DeleteI love both of these pieces but especialyl the skirt! GORGEOUS! I like the top untucked personally but I think you can wear it both ways and look great. That was a tough decision! :)
ReplyDeleteThe good thing about maxi skirts is you can really wear it either way. Leave it out for a casual Saturday out, or tuck it in to be more polished. You could even pair it with a cute cropped blazer to dress it up even more for a date night!! Love the skirt and top!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the tribal print obsession! I was so not into it at first, but I've grown to really love it.
ReplyDeleteI second Rebekah up there. Tucked for polished, untucked for casual. Loooooove maxi skirts & dresses. Even though I'm way on the short side. They're so comfy!
I say tuck it! I like the black but you could try grey or red also :) You look great!
ReplyDeleteTHANKS GIRL! I think tucking is winning!!!
DeleteTuck it in! For sure! And I love that top!

I need this skirt!! Like now...I wish it were online...like I am dying for it!! I am about to call the store!! LOL!! And I say you can wear it tucked in our out....but I think it would look fab with a chambray shirt knotted/tied at the bottom!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that top!

Tuck that tank in! You could find another black short sleeved to wear out.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am NOT wearing that tank with it EVER! Promise!
DeleteI think with your trim waist, you definitely need to tuck in!
ReplyDeleteI love both those prints! Super cute, girl! :-) I like both tucked and untucked. I think you can just play around with it. :-)
ReplyDelete$12.80 for that shirt?! Amazing! I would say definitely tuck int the shirt - maxi skirts tend to look more refined with a tucked in top. I think the skirt looks awesome with black, and it would also look cool with gray, chambray, white, or even yellow! I am excited to see what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteTuck it in! I love maxi's tucked in :) This one is so cute, I love the pattern! You could definitely wear it with black, or denim, grey, blue, green, just about anything really.

Style Honestly
I like the black and I think tucked in looks the best!
ReplyDeleteI have one maxi skirt, and I never know what to do with it! When I tuck my shirt in you can see the lines of it across the butt - so annoying! But if I leave it out then I looks a little frumpy and thinck around the waiste band part. #fashionchallenged
I like the black and I liked tucked in. I bet brown or white would look good with it as well?

i think you could wear it either way- black seems right to me. Where is red poppy?
ReplyDeleteIt's in Nixa. You turn left at the light by McDonald's......pass McD's and it's just the cutest little house on the right not too far down.
DeleteI love maxi dresses for summertime! That one has a great pattern! From your pictures, tucked in looks really cute, but it drives me crazy to not have a long shirt pulled down over my waistline. So I would probably wear it untucked. Either way looks good. I need to check out Red Poppy!
