Thrifting has been picking up around here a bit.
Spring break didn't hurt either. I could hit up some thrifts that I usually don't make time for.
It started with these finds..........
Somewhere in the middle of the week I found two sets of pillowcases.......
These don't match any of my bedrooms at all, but they kind of make me want to collect vintage pillowcases.
If they were just singles, I think I'd have an easier time parting with them. But they both came in pairs.
I think Sir Chester agrees. Keep.
Another keep..........
I have a growing collecting of these Avon Christmas perfume bottles. I'm only missing the candle and the bells. I might have about three of the Santas already.
I just can't resist them.
I can't resist floral paint-by-numbers either........
Or little pitchers.
Or vintage sweaters......
I bought this to sell. But then I put it on.
It's mint green.
I think I'll add it to my 80's sweater collection.
So what then, out of all this, will I part with?
I think the only thing that will end up in the booth is this........
And really. It pains me.
I've had it priced and ready for a week, but something keeps telling me to wait.
It doesn't even fit.
I need an intervention.

What cute things you found! I have been having such bad luck thrifting lately :( Ever since Hurricane Sandy, thrifting has not been the same.
ReplyDeleteBOOOOO! I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe it'll pick up this summer!?!
DeleteNice finds. I love the yellow Samsonite!
ReplyDeleteI love that yellow bag! And how sad that the polka dot top doesn't fit you, its darling!! But that mint sweater fits perfectly, so YAY!!

Those pillow cases are so cute (and coordinated too). Clearly Sir Chester has great taste. :)
ReplyDeleteI want a paint by number gallery in the new house (guest room perhaps?). We might have to go on some hunting trips in the future. Or perhaps be Bob Ross like and just paint some happy trees ourselves.
ReplyDeleteHA! Let's do a trip! Unless you want a cat and dog portrait! I have those paint-by-numbers in the booth!?!?!
DeleteLoving the yellow bag!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteYour little Avon bottles are cute, now that is something I very rarely look at!
ReplyDeleteThat jumper looks great on you, you should definitely keep!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Deletethat shirt is so cute- dont think i could part with it if i were you... My mom always put a bunch of those avon bottles on top of the piano at Christmas time and I would always open them and smell them, so I totally support you in collecting them!
ReplyDeleteYessss! Thanks! Yes, if I had mad tailoring skills I might keep it, but I'm a little rusty on the sewing machine.
DeleteMaybe you do need an intervention... but if you can still get in your front door and find the kitchen... and maybe the bathroom and master bedroom, you might be okay for a while...
ReplyDeleteLOVE the mustard bag very chic
ReplyDeleteVintage sheets and pillowcases are my newest obsession! I love the prints! I am stocking up on sheets in hopes to learn how to sew pillow covers. The cases, I use on every single bed in my house. They are just so cheery:-)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week,
Erica
You must keep that sweater. Makes you look very "'60s ski bunny"!
ReplyDeleteHA!!!! I will definitely keep it then!
DeleteThat mint sweater is really cute and I think you can make it look modern!

Thank you! I've seen a few mint sweaters recently.........so I knew I had to have it.
DeleteLove the bunny egg cups and would probably have bought the Avon perfume bottles too.
ReplyDeleteSweater takes me right back to the 80s which is certainly where my heart lies too.
Seriously! Children of the 80's unite!
DeleteI am the last person who would be qualified to perform an intervention...I was thinking, "What?! She's selling that polka dot shirt?! Nooo!" Also...I LOVE vintage pillowcases. I definitely vote to keep!
ReplyDeleteI was gonna say KEEP the top, but if it doesn't fit you need intervention...and I am here to give it....put it in the booth now!! ;) And i must say I am loving the yellow gingham pillow cases too!! Adorbs!!
ReplyDeleteOh Danavee! Great that you are keeping the sweater! I love it! Those pillow cases were just like what I had when I was in college in the 70's. Yes, that is looooooong ago, hahahaha. I am so glad you are a big fan of mint green, too. Yipppeeee.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely collecting vintage pillow cases, they are too darn cute, and almost never more than 99 cents at the thrifts. Some I have turned into covers for my girl's doll bed - super cute (and a super-easy project that even I can tackle)! And not to give you any ideas, but take a look at Pinterest for all the ways you can upcycle pillow cases...you might never be able to let another one go. You're welcome :-)
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! THANK YOU! I'm on it! Am I following you on Pinterest? I should be!!
DeleteThat yellow bag is gorgeous! And that jumper would not leave me...even if it didn't fit haha You're not the only one with a problem
