Thrifting Frenzy

Thrifting has been picking up around here a bit.

Spring break didn't hurt either.  I could hit up some thrifts that I usually don't make time for.

It started with these finds..........

Somewhere in the middle of the week I found two sets of pillowcases.......

These don't match any of my bedrooms at all, but they kind of make me want to collect vintage pillowcases.

If they were just singles, I think I'd have an easier time parting with them.  But they both came in pairs.

I think Sir Chester agrees.  Keep.

Another keep..........

I have a growing collecting of these Avon Christmas perfume bottles.  I'm only missing the candle and the bells.  I might have about three of the Santas already.

I just can't resist them.

I can't resist floral paint-by-numbers either........

Or little pitchers.

Or vintage sweaters......

I bought this to sell.  But then I put it on.

It's mint green.

I think I'll add it to my 80's sweater collection.

So what then, out of all this, will I part with?

I think the only thing that will end up in the booth is this........

And really.  It pains me.

I've had it priced and ready for a week, but something keeps telling me to wait.

It doesn't even fit.

I need an intervention.

  5. I want a paint by number gallery in the new house (guest room perhaps?). We might have to go on some hunting trips in the future. Or perhaps be Bob Ross like and just paint some happy trees ourselves.

    1. Yessss! Thanks! Yes, if I had mad tailoring skills I might keep it, but I'm a little rusty on the sewing machine.

  9. Maybe you do need an intervention... but if you can still get in your front door and find the kitchen... and maybe the bathroom and master bedroom, you might be okay for a while...

  11. Vintage sheets and pillowcases are my newest obsession! I love the prints! I am stocking up on sheets in hopes to learn how to sew pillow covers. The cases, I use on every single bed in my house. They are just so cheery:-)

Sweater takes me right back to the 80s which is certainly where my heart lies too.

  17. Oh Danavee! Great that you are keeping the sweater! I love it! Those pillow cases were just like what I had when I was in college in the 70's. Yes, that is looooooong ago, hahahaha. I am so glad you are a big fan of mint green, too. Yipppeeee.

  18. I am definitely collecting vintage pillow cases, they are too darn cute, and almost never more than 99 cents at the thrifts. Some I have turned into covers for my girl's doll bed - super cute (and a super-easy project that even I can tackle)! And not to give you any ideas, but take a look at Pinterest for all the ways you can upcycle pillow cases...you might never be able to let another one go. You're welcome :-)
