Five Things Friday

1.  For some reason, unbeknownst to me, I decided to prove to my class that I could still turn a cartwheel and do a back-bend the other day.

I woke up the next morning wondering why I was sore.  Then I remembered the stunt from the previous day.

But now I feel like I should prove it to you too.  You only get a back-bend though.....

2.  I won a blog giveaway this week!!  Creator Designs, along with The Vanilla Tulip, hosted a giveaway for a Tervis.  It even arrived by mail the next day.

It would be the perfect water cup.  If only I drank water....

3.  Speaking of drinks, I know what that Tervis will hold.  You know how I'm a Gold Card Holder at Starbucks?  Well, every 15 drinks earns a free handcrafted beverage.  I must have hit the magic number because my free drink postcard arrived in the mail on Monday.

If it's free, you know you better order a Venti.....

4.  My sis let me borrow a book, and I read the whole darn thing in two days.  The movie is coming soon, so I needed to be prepared......

5.  I got a manicure and pedicure with my sis.  Sis was unsure of my choice to not match my toes and fingernails.  The nail tech even said most folks go with the same color.  I was pretty firm in my decision though, so I couldn't be talked out of it.  Therefore, I have purple-ish toes and pinkish fingers.  Is that bad?

Have I broken some rule that I didn't know about?

Come on.  You can tell me.

  1. I LOVE the back-bend and cartwheel story! The question is did you have to bridge up for the back bend or did you do it from a standing position? I tried one not long ago and about killed myself.
AND, I think your nail and toe choice is perfect. No rule I know of.

  2. I'm pretty sure not matching your toes and fingers is perfectly fine. At least, I wouldn't/don't do it... Now I'm worried! :)

  3. I have seen the back-bend in person, but I like the bloggy one with the addition of Sir Chester underneath even better. He's such a cute little doggie-man.

I want to read The Lucky One. I assume you couldn't put it down since you completed it so quickly? Good recommend?

    1. Yeah, it was a good, easy read. It didn't have me like The Help or Hunger Games, but it was still good.

  6. I remember when I could do a back bend. I assumed it was something you never lose, like riding a bike. Boy was I wrong. My arms are not even strong enough to hold myself besides the fact that my back has lost the flexibility. Maybe if I keep doing yoga it will come back.

I think it is perfectly fine to not match. I never do, mostly cause I never paint my nails since it seems to chip in a few hours. :)

  8. definitely couldn't ever do a back bend...flexibility is not in my genes!

and I normally am OCD about my fingers & toes matching, but sometimes I think it looks fabulous to have a little variety!

  9. I know it might be weird, but I'm fine with it if the fingernails are a lighter shade than toenails.

Love those tumblers, can never have enough of them!

    Happy Friday! :)

  10. i went to nail school 17 years ago & i don't recall the teacher ever saying toes & fingers should match..so I believe it is perfectly acceptable for you to wear whatever color you like. especially when both of them are that pretty of a shade..

  12. I found you through the link up for HF4F and am definitely a new follower! I personally love the idea of two different colors! I've never thought of it before. I have The Lucky One all loaded up on my Nook and am planning on starting it tonight. Perhaps I'll have a similar picture up for my next week's high five!
