If you ever want to be completely disconnected from the world, go camping in Arkansas.
I can promise that you'll have zero service on your cell phone along the Buffalo River. Which is good and bad.
But mostly good.
What else is good?
The scenery.......
The Good |
We love floating and camping here. Other than some pesky raccoons, our trip was perfect.
But if there ever was something to complain about, it would have to be water shoes.......
The Bad |
These are a necessary evil. But I hate them. I've never met a good water shoe. If you have, please inform me as I will purchase them immediately.
However, water shoes turned out to be the least of my worries.
I love a good sunburn. So good that you can spot the string from your bathing suit kind.........
The Ugly |
It's kind of like Where's Waldo, only easier.
But seriously, a weekend escape is good for you.
Roughin' it is fun. And we are becoming experts at it.
Just not the sunscreen part.

Ouch! Sunburns are never fun, unless they turn into a nice brown tan without the peeling process!
ReplyDeleteThat looks soo beautiful and peaceful!! Sorry about your burn!! :( :(
ReplyDeleteSOOOOO glad you linked up with us today! :)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a great vacation, but your sunburn looks so painful. Ouch!
Happy Monday!
I'm falling 'in love' with Arkansas...it is SO beautiful. We ditched the girls at camp last week and headed out camping in Arkansas ourselves (Devil's Den State Park). I was excited about being disconnected from the world (and replenishing!) ...until I remembered my kids were at camp and if they had an emergency I had NO cell service! Luckily I found a hill top 5 minutes away from campground that did get a signal, so every few hours I'd drive to the top and make sure I had no urgent phone calls! How'd I get so connected to my phone?!
ReplyDeleteIn high school and friend's family took me camping every year to Lake Norfork in Arkansas...so beautiful! And I feel you on the water shoes - hate 'em.
ReplyDeleteGirl, you are my hero. As much as I want to rough it, there is just no way I think I could last in the wilderness for more than a day! It looked beautiful! Take care of the sunburn!!

The Buffalo River is so beautiful! I want to go back soon... My best friend lives in Arkansas so maybe I will plan a little road trip sometime soon.
ReplyDeleteHope your sunburn is feeling better!
Ouch so sorry! I've never been to Arkansas--looks gorgeous!

My husband and I were just talking about going floating the other day, such a fun weekend getaway!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable post. I hope you got some TLC with that sunburn of yours :)
ReplyDeleteAnd, I think water shoes are destined to be not so cute...sorry.
yikes- go invest in lots of aloe - its the only thing that saves me from my lack of ability to put on sunscreen when needed :)
