What I Wore (to a summer wedding)

I know I asked for your help in styling a dress for a wedding awhile back.

I know that most everyone liked a particular dress.  A dress I specifically bought to wear to the wedding.

But then, I just didn't.

The whole having to shop for a necklace and shoes thing.  I didn't want to.

I decided to go cheap.  Free actually.  To wear an dress that I had, with accessories and shoes that I already had............

Old Gap dress, old Urban Outfitters belt, and old, old Aerosoles shoes.

Really, it worked out perfectly, as the mister and I sort of matched.....

Not that that's what we were going for.

But I think I like how it all turned out.

Now, to keep or return the other dress???  That is the question.

Linking up with The Pleated Poppy,

  1. I love the dress and the way it is styled!

  2. I'm a huge fan of this outfit - and of accidentally coordinating with your wedding date. :)

  3. Friend, you could put a burlap bag on, cinch it up with a skinny belt and add some accessories and look fabulous! :-)
I love this picture of you guys. Very urban chic.

  4. You both looked great. Love the brick background. And your legs go on for miles. I say return the other dress and save the money to buy another vintage one ;)

  5. Keep it! You'll never know when you can use it!

    You look beautiful BTW

  6. Good idea to shop your own closet for the wedding! The photo of the two of you came out so cute against that brick wall :)

  7. You look great! Ha, I'm always kind of a lazy shopper like that. I like to look good, but having to go out and hunt down the shoes and jewelry sounds exhausting!!

I love the brick background in that photo! I told my sister about the Firehouse wedding idea and she loved it. That brick wall would be a beautiful place for a wedding photo!

  8. Oooops, sorry Danavee but my tribal top is going to be just that; MINE!!! so sorry. so sorry. (hug) (I was so lucky to find it)

  9. I love the way this is styled, and that last picture of you and the husband is so good! That needs to be framed!

  10. I love the way you styled the dress! You and your hubby look great! :-)

  11. Love this dress and accessories! You look amazing and that pic of you and your hubby is perfect. ;)

  12. Excellent pick! Perfect summer wedding attire I'd say. And the pic of you two is gorg.

  13. Look at you and your styling ways!!! Love what you ended up putting together!! You two looked precious!!

  14. Such a pretty outfit and love the dress!! ;) xo Heather

  15. Cute photo of you two! Love the final look. Keep question. ;)

  16. I loved the IG pic! I think you did a great job, and saved money!!

  17. That turned out super cute. Free is always, well usually, best! :)

  18. the best way to shop is from your own closet! and you look great!! however, i say keep the other dress. it can be worn dressy or casual, and i bet you'll get a ton of use out of it!

    1. I think I'm convinced. I mean I'd have to drive about an hour away to return in anyway!
