Dreaming of Paint

I woke up today and could think of nothing other than paint swatches.

Probably because I went on a pillow buying frenzy last night right before bedtime.

I sort of bought four pillows for the special room.............

I didn't want to stop there, but I figured I should at least let them arrive before I do more pillow damage.

That led me to think about what else I could do.  Instead of buying pillows.

How about figure out my paint color?

Here's what I'm working with.........

Gray, turquoise, creamy white, and a little soft coral....

I'm thinking a silvery gray for the walls?  To tie in the gray from the curtains and rug??

Maybe something along these lines or a shade lighter??

We all know I'm not afraid of color (bathroom, entryway, living room) but I really want the bedding and curtains to be the standouts in this room.

I considered a lighter coral or even a softer turquoise.....

Too much like my kitchen and entry?
Too close to my bathroom color?

And now I'm just plain old confused.

Leaning towards gray......teetering on the edge though.

Your opinion, please?

  1. The silvery gray all the way.

I forbid the coral. Forbid! Let it stay only "touches" of coral.

  5. I'm sure you can make coral work. But I vote for the gray. I am curious about Whitney's fear of coral. Perhaps she had the same hideous coral sweater I had during my childhood.

  6. The coral would be fun but I think if you want the bed colors to stand out this would take away. Not sure where I read it but supposedly the new "it" design color is gray. So you would be right in the trend to go gray. I'm thinking gray for my spare bedrooms as well.

  7. Love, Love, Love the new pillows!!! I like both of the colors. I am not really opposed, but I do believe I will have to go inspect in person first. :)

  9. Poo! k, so my lame attempt at the link to a super cute painting on Lindsay's esty (From the Aisle to Aloha) did NOT work. But it's gray w/ a turquoisey "hooray!" on it...too cute and she's done some other chevron stuff lately...just thought of you when I saw this latest one and looked at how your room's coming together. Sorry I'm no help in the paint department...having that angst myself these days. =)Love!

  12. I am going to have to agree with Whitney. Silvery grey for sure! Keep the coral for accents.
