This Week (Instagram Style)

I survived a grading frenzy........

I survived thanks to my favorite hot tea and leopard Snuggie.

*   *   *   *

I ordered my very last pumpkin spice latte (til next fall)......

I had a little moment of silence after they told me they used up the syrup for my order.

*   *   *   *

I may have broken my shopping ban for ONE Etsy purchase.......

I could not let this tea towel get away from me.  It's my favorite Pyrex pattern.

*   *   *   *

Missouri weather.  One minute it is 60 out, and I'm spray painting.  Next thing you know, we have inside recess for days on end..........

If you can't beat em, join em.

*   *   *   *

And lastly, I put the ole fireplace on Instagram for some opinions........

To paint or not?

The brick, that is.  White or ivory.

I received some passionate NO votes.

What sayeth you?

  2. Fireplace...my vote is ivory. White would probably be too bright.

    Kentucky weather isn't much better :/

  7. I just came across your blog and LOVE it! My vote is NO for painting the fireplace. I'm sure it would look awesome if you did, but the non-painted bricks are gorgeous!

  10. Keep the vintage grove with the natural brick. Also, painted brick is a bear to strip later on when the painted-brick look goes out of fashion, ugh. The exposed brick look is the way to go in my book. But I will still read your blog if you DO go ahead and paint it white ;-)

    1. HA! Well, thank you! I wondered if I'd be doing a disservice to the brick by painting it.......since I'm a "keep it original" type when it comes to old furniture and stuff.

  13. So glad you survived the grading session. :) Even if it did make you a banana. :)
    And unless your Decor is sleek and modern (which I really can't see from you) I would leave the fireplace as is. It is lovely and perfect. Now if your Decor really is sleek and modern, you must post pictures to convince me and then you should probably change the name of your Blog. :) Happy weekend!

  14. I love these weekly wrap ups you do. What a great glimpse into your life and your world. The tea towel is adorable. I definitely endorse this purchase. It's really one of a kind and totally you. AND, if you are looking to brighten up your space, I vote for painting the brick. If you are hoping to keep it looking cozy, I vote to leave it as it is.

  18. Congrats on surviving the grading! And Pumpkin spice lattes...mmmm....I miss them already!
    I'm having mixed feelings on the brick though. The fireplace in our house was already painted white when we moved in and I love it, but I also love the brick look...I think both would look great!
    Hope you have a great weekend!
