Christmas break thrifting was g.o.o.d.
I found two suitcases..........
They both match my special room.
I think I'll keep them.
Shocking, right?
I already had the larger mate of the light green Samsonite. So I was very excited to add the travel case to my collection.
* * * *
I don't collect this pattern of Pyrex, but my parents had these plates when I was little......
You know I'm a sentimental fool.
* * * *
I've kind of started to like afghans.
However, this one is not my style at all.
But when I looked it up on ebay, the prices were shocking.......
So that makes me want to keep it.
* * * *
And lastly, a silly vintage dress.........
Vintage dresses and skirts are overflowing at home.
I do not need to purchase a single article of clothing for the entire month of January.
We'll see how long that lasts.
Resolutions and shopping bans are really a joke around here.
But I am going to try to drink more water.

Wow, I am in love with both of those suitcases. I really think thrifting takes a certain eye because I feel like I don't ever find anything. Also, I know what you mean about shopping and buying clothes... it is the death of me!
ReplyDeleteI snickered at your plan to drink more water. HAHAH! I know you all too well. That's going down the drain. For realz.
ReplyDeleteWater, schmatter. Hey. Let's start running. Haaaaaaa!
ReplyDeleteHAAAA! I just cackled out loud. Yes, that happened.
DeleteThat afghan is really interesting. I've never seen one with puffy flowers like that before. Also, that dress is SUPER CUTE! Pair it with some bright tights please!
ReplyDeleteI actually THOUGHT OF YOU when I bought it!!!! Creepy? I hope not!
DeleteI love that you have resolved to drink more water. I laughed when I read that. Your finds are wonderful. I would have the same problem that you have, I wouldn't ever want to put anything in my booth (not that I have a booth), I'd want to keep it all. I love that you want to keep the afghan because of how much similar ones are selling for on ebay. That is hilarious.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing a drought week once a month for the next 4 months! No spending at all.....easier than going a month. I'll let you know how that goes ;)
ReplyDeleteHi there! Here from the Blog! Love love love the first Blue suitcase. Its gorgeous! Who doesnt love thrifting? (new follower) You can find me at http://theresmagicoutthere.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThat dress...love. great find on the blanket. I love that you have a booth. I'm looking in to doing this too. Where is yours if you don't mind me asking??? Dawn suitcase vignettes
ReplyDeleteYour "drink more water" resolution make me laugh. I love it! (Actually, I'm not even sure I'd succeed at that one, given the extent of my Diet Coke addiction.) I love all your finds. The flowered suitcase is SO CUTE.
ReplyDeleteYour finds are just lovely! I passed up that blanket at a garage sale one time, and now i am kicking myself for not buying it.
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
The Joyful Thrifter
Great finds, Love the suitcases, esp. the first one!
ReplyDeleteYou can never have too many suitcases, can you? Thrifting around here has been a big old bust. I was expecting to find a lot of stuff after Christmas, but so far it's been pretty barren.
ReplyDeleteWow! I LOVE that floral suitcase! Nice find there lady! ;-)

Love it.... I didn't get to do too much thrifting over the break, but I am going to hit January hard! :) haha
ReplyDeleteDO IT! You'll have to show off your finds!!!
DeleteYou for sure have to keep the suitcases! The colors are incredible and will look so nice in your room. I've seen afghans going for a lot lately too. I guess when one considers how much time went into making it, it kind of makes sense.
ReplyDeleteI love the suitcases!
ReplyDeleteThanks for following on bloglovin', I am following you back. I am also following you via GFC, hopefully you can follow me back on that as well.
Much Love
Haha absolutely NO point setting un-achievable resolutions!
ReplyDeleteYour cases are mighty fine, I'd want to keep them too.
HA! Thank you!
DeleteSuch great finds! I'm a sucker for luggage!
ReplyDeleteME TOO! It's a terrible addiction!!!
DeleteScore on the suitcases! And my mom has that EXACT SAME butter dish - still in use. Crazy.
ReplyDeleteShopping bans are a joke around here, too.
HA! I'm not alone in my failed bans!!!!!
DeleteOh girl, you crack me up!!! I don't need to buy any clothes for an entire year!! Yep, that will last all of about a day!! And that afghan....wow...$40!! Oh yeah, you need to keep it!
ReplyDeleteI think my mom might've had that same butter dish! (and might still be using it).

HAAA! She is IN!!! Vintage Pyrex is all the rage!
DeleteGreat finds as usual! And you really should photgraph that dress ON. Vintage dresses often look so sad and dated (in a sad way) on a hanger, and then you put them on, and they look good all over. Darling suitcases too btw.
ReplyDeleteYou are right! I ALMOST put it on, then chickened out! I need a dress form!!!!!
DeleteI thought I would share a bit of information on that first suitcase you have posted. I too have one. I found it last summer at a local parking garage sale a neighboring city has every year. I was ecstatic when I saw it. I had to have it. It, or one likes it, has memories attached to me. You see, it is not a suitcase that was made for vacation nor overnight stays. No. It was the case an Avon lady would have used to store and carry her samples, brochures and order booklets. My best friend's mom was one when we were growing up! Oh the fun we had playing Avon lady and looking at her new shipment of orders that came in the mail. They were boxes with the same blue/green colored lettering on the box. Oh we had fun! That is whyi had to have it when I saw it! It is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGIRL you are rocking the vintage finds lately!! absolutely LOVE the suitcases and SUCH a fun dress!!
ReplyDeleteyou're funny, good stuff!
ReplyDeleteHa! Thank you!
DeleteI had that 1st suitcase as a kid and got rid of it several years ago. Seeing a picture of it brought back memories, thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteYou found SUCH cute stuff :) LOVE the suitcases!
ReplyDeleteI just bought the exact same butter dish at Grandma's Attic in Granbury, Tx. I was visiting my mother for Christmas. I just had to comment.
ReplyDeleteHow funny!!!!!! You have GREAT TASTE!
Delete$40 for that blanket? Never would have guessed.
ReplyDeleteI tried to do that last year... drink more water. Didn't work. Maybe this year.
I know what you mean. My husband didn't want me to spend over $100 this week. Unfortunately, the car needed gas and the dog needed food. $ ≠ 0
